Susan Waters Naturopath Motueka I was brought up on the beautiful, rugged West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand, surrounded by all the amazing Nature. I completed 12 years of Nursing on the Coast(working in most areas of health) and then when a 4 year Naturopathy Diploma came available with N.Z.Q.A. standards I knew this was for me!

I studied in New Zealand and Australia and after completing this went on to further do more in depth study on Kinesiology and Iridology. I also have Diplomas in Rebirthing, Emotional Release, Mindfulness and Transpersonal Psychology. While undertaking my studies I chose very experienced practitioners in their fields to mentor with which was invaluable.

I am constantly upgrading my skills with ongoing seminars and study and now have over 37 years experience in the Health Field ... with 25 years in Clinic as a Naturopath. I see patients of all ages (usually end up seeing the whole family) with a variety of ailments, and sometimes their animals! My passion has always been in Health, and how the body works.

If not in my clinic you will find me in my next passion which is growing herbs, fruit and vegetables. We know good food makes a positive impact on the body. I find part of my role is to Educate, Empower and Motivate the client to take person responsibility for their own Wellbeing. I am very passionate about the work I do and have found this knowledge invaluable in my own and family’s life, and am excited to pass that on.

Services

Full Naturopathic Consultation

A consultation takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. There is a detailed questioning on past and present health history, family health history if known, medication and supplements you are presently taking. Any bloods, scans or doctor's reports are helpful to bring if you have these.

Follow Up Appointments

These are usually 30 minutes and assess your progress and treatment plan, depending on condition and response to how many of these you may need, if any.

Mini Consultation

With some issues a full consultation is not required but you need to be seen to be assessed. This is a minimal charge or free.

Repeat Prescriptions

These are available if you are unable to attend a consultation and supplements can be posted. It is ideal to see me at some stage in the flesh!

Tests

There are many tests which can be arranged through my companies if need be. These are usually hair, urine and saliva.

Hair Analysis - This often shows the degree of heavy metals in the system and a mineral profile.

Saliva Cortisol - this shows the condition of the adrenal glands.

Stool Sample - this shows digestion, parasites, good bacteria, enzymes.

Sex hormone testing - usually urine.

Food 500 test.

Other functional tests may be required depending on your health status.

Kinesiology Open or Close

Kinesiology is a bio feed back from the energy of the patient to the experienced practitioner to quickly pin point e.g.

- the area in need of balance
- the nutrients that may be deficient
- the bacteria presenting
-food intolerance

The patient remains fully clothed, awake and usually laying on a table or sitting in a chair. This is a university proven technique which I find so valuable in my clinic to find THE BEST SOLUTION FOR YOU.
Iridology Open or Close

Iridology is the study of the coloured part of the eye (also can be the white part) which is like a map of your health history with the markings colour of the markings and where the marking are, that reveal past, present and potential future health conditions.

Your inherited tendencies and toxic accumulations in varies parts of the body are revealed.

Benefits of Iridology along with Kinesiology and a questioner can give an overall health awareness of your body...this also applies to animal health as well. Fascinating!
Herbal Dispensary Open or Close

I have had a Herbal Dispensary for 25 years and find this so valuable in my clinic as I can individualise a herbal formula specific to the patient's condition...where this may not be available in tablet form.

These herbal tinctures are sourced from reliable companies which test for correct dosing per ml, pesticides etc.

These formulations can be used in most health conditions with the consideration taken into account if the patient is also on medication.
Bach Flowers Open or Close

Bach Flowers are Flower essences which are used for emotional issues which are safe and gentle.

As there are 38 Bach Flowers each relating to an emotional condition, Kinesiology quickly pin points the ones required and when taken (in drops) they quickly restore the balance between mind and body by reducing negative emotions such as shock, fear, worry, indecision etc.

These are excellent for all ages and excellent to find the emotion which is unable to be expressed in the very young.
Food Intolerance Open or Close

FOOD INTOLERANCES ARE NOT ALLERGIES

An Allergy is where the body can go into shock. The mouth, lips, tongue, throat may swell and often needs Medical Attention.
A Food Intolerance is where there are vague symptoms eg. Stomach aches and pains, dry itchy eczema skin, diarrhoea, hives etc.
These are pinpointed with the use of vials in my testing kits...and advise given.
Diet and Nutrition Open or Close

There is so much confusion today with diet and what to eat!

I can help you in providing advice with what diet may help you...avoiding food intolerances....

Diet for better energy and if needed for weight loss.

Some diets which you may already be on may be missing key nutrients and I can help pin point these and advise on how to remedy this with food or supplement.

Also what is looked at is how well you digest and assimilate your food...general gut health and microbiome (good gut bacteria).
Homeopathy Open or Close

Homoeopathic’s are a wonderful gentle modality I use in my clinic for all ages, but especially babies, sensitive people and the elderly.

The basic belief behind homoeopathy is "like assists with like".

The remedy can have nano particles in it that are close to the condition we are aiming to treat eg bee stings, diarrhoea, coughs.

I have a wide range of Practitioner Only Supplements which may be helpful in treating many conditions.

These are from reputable Companies which test their formulations whether they are herbal, mineral or vitamin formulations.
Hormonal / Fertility Issues Open or Close

In my clinic I have great success with fertility issues and helping women conceive.

Both parties have an overall health assessment and if necessary tests done with their own GP for a hormonal profile to get a clear picture.

This can also be done with a urine profile test which you pay for. It is then decided what is required eg supplements, nutrition, herbs, relaxing techniques for the desired outcome.

This can be hormonal issues in Male or Female...whatever the age.

With the modalities I use we can have good success in this area whether it may be Female Menopause, Male Menopause, PMT, Acne, Prostate issues, Endometriosis and many others.
Massage Open or Close

I have a variety of massage techniques which I use and can assist in relaxing aching muscles to give relief.

Some of my patients are unable to use a chiropractor for many reasons and the massage gives them relief.

Also I can access the patient while giving a massage and may suggest they see an osteopath, chiropractor, cranial therapist, doctor, scans if it seems necessary.
Enhanced Health / Human WOF ( Warrant Of Fitness) Open or Close

It is of great value to have a Human WOF every 6 months to 1 year...like our cars!

Even though you may be feeling perfectly fine it is a good idea to get a check as this may avoid issues in the future if caught early enough.

It feels much better to be running 100%...compared to 60%..which you may be unaware at the time. Patients can sometimes be surprised by what I find when they are feeling OK.
